Connect volunteers with children with a refugee background, and help children of newcomers to participate at their real school level! Do you want to make a difference in education and contribute to a warmer, more inclusive society? As a matcher at ThuisOnderwijsMaatjes you can link children of newcomers to committed volunteers and thus create equal opportunities. Children of newcomers often receive less help with their schoolwork at home than their Dutch classmates. We therefore link children from 6 to 18 years old with volunteers (TOMaatjes) to give them an equal chance. As a matcher you bring volunteers and families together, with a lot of direct contact to create great relationships. About OpenEmbassy: OpenEmbassy is a social enterprise from Amsterdam that operates nationally. We ensure that newcomers can find their way in the Netherlands sensibly, with dignity and smoothly. The TOMaatjes team is mainly concerned with helping children and young people from a newcomer family with school work. About the role: As a matcher, your primary task is to link children to volunteer supervisors. You provide many connections and strive for long-term collaborations. You are strong in communication, relationship management and creating a good atmosphere.
